Purple Heart 1976

meeting on April 27

ESCANABA — The Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) Chapter 1976 will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the clubhouse building, 1202 Sheridan Road. Senior line dancing

GLADSTONE — Beginners’ line dancing is offered at the Gladstone Senior Center each Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. No partner is needed. The activity is free to all area seniors. Membership is not required.

ESCANABA — The Elks Ladies’ Auxiliary will hold a board meeting on Monday, May 1 at 5:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge.

“Gospel Guys” perform

free concert April 27

ESCANABA — Our Savior Lutheran Church is hosting a free concert on Thursday, April 27. The “Gospel Guys” will perform at 7 p.m. A free dinner will be served beginning at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Gladstone Lions Club

holds spring social

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Lions Club will be holding their annual spring social and fundraiser on, Friday, April 28, at the Terrace Bluff Country Club, with doors opening at 7 p.m., and music beginning at 8 p.m. Music this year will include local favorites, The Jam Band and in addition, the Lions Club will be welcoming home Karlee Metzger for her first hometown performance since appearing in season 11 of The Voice. Metzger, a graduate of Gladstone High School, now resides in Nashville where she continues to pursue her music career.

All tickets are $15 and will be available at the door or advance tickets can be purchased at Northern Insurance in Gladstone and Escanaba and also at mBank in Wells. Tickets purchased in advance will be entered in a drawing for prizes at the event. There will also be 50/50 raffles, bucket raffles, and more.

Proceeds will benefit the Delta County Kids Fund. For further information, contact Bill Sjoquist at 428-1924.

MARSP holds meeting

GLADSTONE — The Delta County Chapter of MARSP will meet on Tuesday, May 2 at the United Memorial Methodist Church in Gladstone. A short announcement program will start at noon, with lunch to follow by 12:15 p.m. Lunch will consist of a spaghetti dinner with salad, bread sticks, and dessert. Cost for the luncheon is $12.

After the luncheon the annual meeting will be held chaired by Don Johnson. Deadline to make a reservation is Thursday, April 27 before 8 p.m. by calling Bev Warren at 474-6408. Cancellations can be made by calling the above number by 8 p.m. Sunday evening, April 30. Members not currently on a calling list may use the above phone number to register if they would like to attend.

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eagles 1088 will be holding its second annual spring fling craft and vendor market fundraiser event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 13 at the Eagles Hall at 608 Ludington St.
