Scotty McCreery comes to the Island

HARRIS — Country music star Scotty McCreery is making his way to the Island Resort and Casino Showroom on May 12 and 13 at 8 p.m.

McCreery began his career after winning the 10th season of the hit singing competition show, “American Idol,” in 2011. Soon after, he released his debut album, “Clear as Day,” which was the best-selling solo album released by a country artist that year.

Since then, he has received both platinum and gold album certifications, debuted three consecutive No. 1 albums on the Billboard chart and achieved one gold and three platinum-certified singles.

McCreery has also toured with country singers Brad Paisley and Rascal Flatts, along with headlining his own tours.

Scott Cooke “Scotty” McCreery was born in Garner, North Carolina on Oct. 9, 1993. At about the age of five, he began to show an interest in music and by 10 had learned to play the guitar.

Throughout high school, McCreery sang in local talent contests, school choirs, and churches. In 2009, he won a singing contest called “Clayton Idol” which was held by WQDR-FM at the Clayton Harvest Festival in North Carolina. Upon auditioning for Idol in 2011, McCreery was working as a bagger at Lowes Foods.

McCreery has released chart topping hits such as “I Love You This Big,” “The Trouble With Girls,” and “See You Tonight,” which later became his first song to reach the top ten on Billboard’s country charts.

Tickets for McCreery’s concert are $33 and can be purchased by visiting the Island Resort and Casino’s website at or by calling 1-877-475-7469.
