ESCANABA — Bay College is thrilled to announce the band The Johns will be coming to campus tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Besse Theater.

General admission is $10, students/faculty/staff is $5, if purchased in person at the box office with student ID, and online is $11.50. Tickets may be purchased at the box office or on the website at www.baycollege.edu. Box office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Box office and doors open at 7 p.m. on day of performance.

When listening to The Johns, you will hear some of the best fiddling that Michigan has to offer. The Johns are a high powered, dynamic stringband that play a wide variety of tunes and songs of various genres. While many of their tunes are rooted deep in traditional Irish, French Canadian and American fiddle music, they also play what may be the best original tunes around, courtesy of their own multi-instrumentalist Budd Greenman.

The Johns started their musical collaboration as a stringband pursuing only dance venues, but have since transitioned into a band that also performs songs that feature all four members on vocals.

The Johns are comprised of Ruby John (fiddle), Jon Cotton (string bass), John Warstler (guitar/clawhammer banjo) and Budd Greenman (fiddle, mandolin, tenor banjo, guitar and cajon). Their high energy music will bring fresh energy to any dance or concert venue.
