Bucholz celebrate 60 years

Wayne and Ivah Bucholz

GLADSTONE — On June 8, 1957 Ivah Sue Smith and Wayne Edward Bucholz were married at Christ Episcopal Church in Owosso, Mich. Clergyman William D. Davis presided. Attendants were Barbara Porter, sister of the bride, and Dean Bucholz, brother of the groom. Ushers were James Porter, brother-in-law of the bride, and Clifford Bucholz, brother of the groom. A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry F. Smith.

Wayne and Sue resided in Elsie, Mich. in their early years of marriage, where they both taught. They returned to Harrison, Mich., Wayne’s hometown. Wayne taught and coached and Sue was a homemaker and mother to their children, Danae, Robin, Lisa, and Angela.

In 1977, Wayne and Sue moved to Gladstone, with their four children. Wayne was the superintendent of Gladstone Area Schools until he retired in 1993.

Wayne and Sue enjoy spending time with family, which includes their children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. They also enjoy time spent at their cottage on Budd Lake in Harrison, Mich.

Wayne and Sue celebrated their 60th anniversary on Saturday, June 10 with a family gathering at their home in Gladstone. All of their family was present including Sue’s sister Pat Cooper and cousin Martha Sheerin. Their marriage was blessed on Sunday, June 11 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Gladstone by Bishop Rayford Ray.
