NEW LIFE

ESCANABA — Sunday worship services will take place at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and nursery is available for both services. A variety of children and adult discipleship groups are offered in both small and large group settings with specific needs in mind. “Connections” fellowship will be held immediately after each service.

Men’s Bible study gathers Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Christian men’s fellowship coffee hour follows at 8:15 p.m. at Culver’s.

The Ladies Luncheon is held on the second Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Stonehouse.

BARK RIVER — A Bobby Crocker cook-off and volleyball will take place beginning at 6 p.m. tonight.

ROCK BIBLE CHAPEL

ROCK — Pastor Adam Hamill will begin a series on “Beginnings.” The first six weeks of the year will be spent on diving into the Bible’s very beginning and gaining a better perspective for understanding the rest of the Bible. Sunday services include communion at 10 a.m., followed by the main worship service at 11 a.m.

Women’s Bible study, “Women of the Bible,” is held at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Adult Bible study, “Stranger on the Road to Emmaus,” which relates the story of the Bible, takes place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Kids club is the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

HYDE/POWERS — St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hyde will be celebrating the fourth Sunday of Epiphany at their 8:30 a.m. Sunday worship service. BARK RIVER UNITED

BARK RIVER — The fourth Sunday of Epiphany will be celebrated at the 9 a.m. worship service. Scriptures will include: Micah 6:1-8; Psalm 15; 1 Corinthians 1:18-31; and Matthew 5:1-12.

Parishioners are invited to bring soup, crackers, and canned sandwich makings for “Souper Bowl Sunday” in February. These items may be placed in the specially marked container near the altar, and will be distributed to persons in need of a hot meal.

A pledge sheet is available on the clip board for Walk for Warmth. Pastor Chris will be walking for this good cause in February.

Social service assistance is available 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in the Community Services Building.

The Soup Kitchen is open 12 to 1 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

U.U. FELLOWSHIP

ESCANABA — The UU Fellowship meets at 10:30 a.m. at the Bonifas Arts Center, 700 1st Ave. S., studio entrance, every second and fourth Sunday of the month. Child care and education are provided, and socialization precedes and follows the service.

The fellowship’s monthly potluck social will be held Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Reeve house.

Unitarian Universalism is an open-minded, welcoming faith that draws on many religious traditions.
